I know what I’m positing is impossible, but bear with me–I am fairly certain that Alex Prager stole the souls of Alfred Hitchcock and Tippi Hedren. Prager’s work seems to straddle Hitchcock’s eye for tension in the mundane with Hedren’s way of framing herself beautifully into a picture; then, she throws her own LA warmth and nostalgia into the mix and the result is magic. Her films condense into a feeling, while her photographs suggest a narrative you are not entirely privy to. You really should check out her website, but if you are disinclined, here are some of my picks.
